The Beginnings: Years 30s-70s

It was in the early thirties when Ricardo founded Halka Industrial with the aim of manufacturing personal hygiene products. When he registed his company in the government offices of the Dominican Republic, he was assigned the industrial registration no.12. Soaps, colognes and hair oil are the products that the Italian-Puerto Rican entrepreneur formulated to start developing the industry. Brands such as Campana soap, John Lahoud cologne and Halka Vaseline are registered, manufactured and marketed immediately. Today, after approximately 84 years, the Brilliantina Halka is still recognized nationally and internationally.

At the beginning of the 70's, Mr. Antonio restructured the entire manufacturing process investing in advanced production processes, achieving a production and distribution contract with Shulton Incorporated USA, the local production of the world famous Old Spice line.

Arrival of a New Generation

At the end of the eighties, the third generation of the family joins the company with Isabel, who graduated summa cum laude in business administration, and immediately becomes the administrative vice-president of Halka Industrial. Currently, she holds the position of CEO.

In the middle of the nineties, Ricardo, a marketer by profession, joins Halka Industrial, evolving the sales department at a national level, increasing the distribution capacity, developing the advertising, promotion and marketing department, a structure that manages to modernize and adapt the corporate image by supporting cultural and sports programs at a national level.

Later in the year 2005, Virginia joined the company, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Psychology with a Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from San Diego State University. She immediately developed the Human Resources and Organizational Development department of the company and began to work as Human Resources Manager.
